Avatar/Change.org

Today in summer school I was assigned to go to the web site Change.org and sign a petition and relate that problem to the movie Avatar. I chose to sign the petition telling President Obama to stop offshore oil drilling. This is important because looked what already happened to the oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. I can relate this to Avatar because it’s the same concept.

In Avatar the "humans" go to the planet Pandora and try taking over the natives land and are destroying it just to get a rock type substance to make them rich. Same thing from drilling in the ocean us humans went to the ocean and took over all the creatures’ homes in the water and destroyed it just too get rich and look what happen they messed up. Now the animals are paying for the consequence for mans stupidity. The sea creatures are dying and the ocean is dying just so some people could make money. Just like in Avatar there planet was not the humans to take over. The ocean is not ours they belong to the creatures that live in it. Humanity has really gone out of control. We came from trying to survive and helping each other too stepping on anyone just to get to the top. People need to wake up and realize that this world will run out of things to give then there will be no more man can take. In the movie Avatar the natives group up together and fight the humans gaining there land and resources back. In the gulf it’s a different story the animals cant fight back or do much of anything because there trying to survive and get away from the oil that has killed their homes.

I hope the petition I signed gets to the President so he can ban off shore drilling before another catastrophe accurse. This oil spill is just the begging of mans greed and one of many tragedies that will happen if something is not done to protect our earth from stupid people making stupid decisions. Only people can protect this world not animals not nature just people make designs. That’s why we are the dominate species on this planet but with being that we have responsibilities. We were given this world so we need to take care of it and make sure it will be here tomorrow.

We are the voice of the nature and the animals and everything on this planet it’s our job to keep them safe and protect them. The oil problem in the gulf is a reminder that things can go wrong and change in a second. Even know this problem could have been avoided. This is life and what life brings we just have to be ready for it. We can choose to be like the humans that choose to fight against their own kind and help the natives in the movie Avatar. We can stand up and do what’s right. With our voices we can change the world it’s up to us to speak out and make a difference.
